ABOUT THE ROLE

We are currently searching for an experienced Release Manager to be part of our rapidly  growing Engineering team.

In this role, you will own the release management lifecycle, which includes scheduling, coordinating, and managing different types of releases across the business. The releases will consist of platform upgrades, new/enhanced product updates and security patches as required.

In addition, you will be responsible for managing the various pre-production and production environments and working with delivery teams to ensure that the deployments are prioritised to avoid environment conflicts.

A key responsibility is ensuring our release processes continue to adhere to SOC2Type2 and ISO217001 standards even as these processes evolve.

The smooth roll-out of releases in collaboration with the various stakeholders, including Product,  Engineering, Sales, Marketing and Product Support teams will define your success in this position.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING AT BEAMERY

  • Schedule, coordinate and manage software releases and cycles across different platforms
  • Maintain the release schedule for all applications to ensure alignment across key business partners and that the release calendar is fully up to date
  • Communicate commitments  and changes, including requirements in release, QA plans, schedule, and scope changes.
  • Partner with the QA team to ensure testing capacity for regression, pre- and post-release deployments are scheduled. 
  • Third-party QA supplier management
  • Lead and coordinate the go-live activities, including executing the deployment plans to pre-production and production environments and test plans and release readiness checklists.
  • Conduct release readiness checks, business go/no-go check-points and post-release reviews.
  • Maintain and publish quality metrics for major releases
  • Work with engineers and DevOps to understand the impacts of branches and code merges.
  • Continuously explore ways of increasing automation of the release and deployment cycle and processes.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Advanced knowledge of software development lifecycle
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion
  • Demonstrated effective leadership and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with CI/CD platforms and DevOps tools such as  Github, GitLab, Gitflow, Slack and Jira
  • Understanding of Agile deliveries
